Hi all,
I need an edible image for my soon to be 25 year old son's birthday cake. I am making a bottle of Southern Comfort and would like a copy of their label. Will I have a problem going to my local supermarket and asking them for an edible image for me or are there legal issues with a name brand label?
I found that asking a local bakery for a simple label type image... they could not help me out. I was wanting to make a cake for a work pot luck. I work for a large well known corp. and they said no way. Copyright infringement laws.

What about printing it on a piece of paper and pasting that paper on to the bottle or on to a piece of gumpaste, and then on to the bottle, if everything else fails? If the bottle is made out of cake, take the label out before serving. i dont have a printer that can print edible images so thats what i did. The print wouldnt touch the cake.
If the label isn't too detailed, you could try to trace it on to rice paper or wafer paper. Use non toxic markers. I did this on a Corona bottle cake in my photos. On the Patron bottle cakes I just printed one from the web on regular paper and placed it on top, just like suzied said.
