What is the best way to torte such a large cake without breaking it?

Use a cake board or a very thin large cookie sheet to lift the top cake after it\\'s been torted so you don\\'t break it. Keep it on there and then slide it back in to place after it\\'s filled.

Sweetwise and I\\'m sure some other people have a video on you tube showing this.

Good luck,

Christy

I have 2 of the Wilton cake lifters, they are a blessing - slip one into each end and lift. One of Wiltons products that is worth the investment!

I put it in the freezer for a 1/2 hour so it's firm but not frozen, then torte.

I do as sccandsbfan. I use a cake board the same size as the cake. My cake is never frozen. I torte it, slide the cake board in between the layeres. make a dam. fill. slide cake right back on top of the filled layer, line everything up . Never have broken one. hth
