My friend doesn't like buttercream, and suggested I use a cream cheese frosting instead. Do you think this would make for a weird combination on a chocolate cake?
Thanks!

I make this combo for clients all the time. I personally do not really like it, but it is a popular choice so I guess a lot of people do like it.

I hav used this before also. It is a really good combination. It kind of gives the chocolate cake and little extra taste.

Chocolate and cream cheese go together (think about chocolate cheese cake) so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

If you are looking for another option, what about a chocolate fudge or a ganache?

Cream cheese frosting is so good on choco cake. Peanut butter cream cheese frosting is also good on choco cake.

whenever i see a question about "would these go together?" the first thing that pops into my head is "Why WOULDN'T it?" the 2nd thing I always wonder is "Who exactly makes the food rules about what can and can't "go together" with food?"

I avoid asking "why?" ...... I try to go with "Why not?" thumbs_up.gif
