this is my most challenging request.....

I want to do a half pipe cake I think...or could i do a mini skate park on a square cake? oh that would be fun

I will be working with gum paste for the first time...unless there is something better to form with...

i need a skate board....i will have to work on people....pipes or a bench....

Oh my....this is going to be tough!!!

I got a "Sugar Arts" magazine at Jo-Ann's a few weeks ago that had an adorable half pipe and skateboarder cake. It's a British magazine but I also saw the same one at Borders bookstore. Maybe you can take a look in there.

I'm doing a half-pipe cake this week, too! Haven't ever done one but I plan on using gumpaste because it can be rolled thin but still be strong. I think I will do it tomorrow so it will have plenty of time to dry! I will let you know how it goes...

I was think 1/4 sheet cakes stacked then carved into the half pipe...i'm stuck on the railing ...i've always made completely edible cakes...

I made a half pipe cake out of RKT before. IMO, it was the easiest way to to and yummy to eat if I didn't use while chocolate to cover the RKT. Hope that helps.

I am interested in how you go about making your cake because my son has requested the same type of cake for his 8th birthday in December. I have a few ideas but I'm not sure how it'll all turn out. Please keep us updated and post photos of the final product!! And be sure to have fun...icon_biggrin.gif
