Does anyone know of any video tutorials on how to put stripes on a cake. I heard that there was a video of a person using a KitchenAid Pasta Roller to roll out there fondant to get it nice and even and rolled out thin. I have been searching on you tube but I cannot seem to find anything.
Thanks for your help.

I just roll my fondant out and use a yardstick and a pizza cutter. I wish I had the pasta roller attachment! I think it would be great to use for my Cricut Cake. Maybe I'll ask Santa for one! ;0)

I've done a few cakes with stripes, you can see in my gallery, but I roll the fondant out and use flower formers to cut the stripes. That way, they are uniform.

I just did a cake (the brown & cream stripe cake in my pics) and I used a ruler and pizza cutter.

Thought I'd add something...if you want small stripes, a clay extruder gun is great.

pippilotta:Thanks so much for posting that! I had it saved in my favorites on my old computer. I've missed it since I switched...now I have it again! YAY!
Also, when I read the OP, your tutorial was the first thing that came to mind!

For small stripes...herb mincer is your best friend! Otherwise, I mostly use a scrapbooking ruler (wider -- clear -- markings by Martha Stewart) & exacto/small knife.

I have two herb mincers. One is slightly wider than the other. I found them at Williams Sonoma ($14) and Meijer ($4). If you chill the strips in the refrigerator for a while after cutting the stripes, the will hold their shape better.
