Just got a cake request for this Friday....and I went ahead and said I would do it. The cake is for 3 different boy's bday and the mom said they would like baseball, football and cowboy boots integrated into it. I can do the baseball/football theme, but how do you through some boots into that mix? Any ideas??? Thanks in advance!

Google cowboy boots and look at the images. Print out your template and then cut them out of fondant. I have used boots and cowboy hat templates before - works great.

There are lots of sites on the web that offer free clipart and kid's coloring pages, and these often have more simplified images and silhouettes that you can use for templates. You can either cut them out of fondant, or just lay the template on your cake and trace around the outline with icing, then add your own details.

I see your dilemma. Boots on a sports themed cake. You could make one of those 4 level cakes where you take a 2 square layers, cut off 1/4 of one layer and stack it back on so that 1/4 of the cake is 1 layer, 1/4 is 3 layer, and the rest is 2 layer. Hopefully that makes sense. That divides the cake into 4 separate areas and you can make 1 area baseball, 1 football, 1 with boots, and write "Happy Birthday" on the last one.

Maybe the football team could be the Dallas Cowboys?
