I do not have time during the week to practice my new found hobby. Today is my half day at work and I plan on heading out to get all the stuff I need and spend most of the week end making cookies and trying to get them to look half as good as some of yours. For all the people that sell there cookies was it word of mouth? I know I have a long way to go before my cookies will be good enough to sell, but I was just wondering. I have a pretty good chance of selling cookies because I am a Montessori teacher is a very $$$$$$$$ town (if you know what I mean)

I am lucky because the folks in my office, especially one lady, will buy just about anything handmade. Mine are not the best compared to some of the cookies I see on this site, but hold my own - and you will be able to do the same! Cookies do take alot of time to decorate though. This weeked I am hoping to try rolled buttercream and see how that is on cookies. That and my one sone wants a whole lot of chocolate chip cookies! LOL!!!

It's definitely word of mouth. I used to bring cookies into the office, give them to family and friends and one by one people started buying them. I donate alot of cookies and cakes to charity events for "raffle prizes" to get my stuff out there and do receive calls for orders from people that have attended the events. Selling on ebay is another way to get your stuff out there. I'm slowly building a very nice customer base and have lots of regulars. You can also create flyers or postcards to advertise your cookies. Vistaprint is great for that and the prices are very reasonable.
