Being in the UK I am finding a lot of recipes which use cake flour can someine please tell me whether to use Self Raising or plain flour as a substitute. This is really annoying as I keep getting different answers on the net. Or maybe I am just a dumb bloke

Yeh i'v read for a recipe using cake flour as a substitute you can use plain flour, and simply subtract two level tablespoons of flour for each cup of flour used in the recipe.
