Do you have to use piping gel when covering a cake board (cake drum) with fondant? I've run out and totally don't feel like running all the way to the Bulk Barn again (it's a 25 minute drive from my house). Can you just use water? What do you guys do? Thanks!
I've used water also and have been happy with the results. Althogugh you need to make sure it's not too wet or it will melt through your fondant! (I've had that happen!). I've also uses sugar glue (cmc and water) and in a poinch made glue by mixing fondant with water until
it made a glue.
Best of luck!
Actually I do have some sugar glue left over from making the gumpaste flowers, so I'll use that. Thanks so much!

Just my opinion but I'd prefer the sugar glue to just water. I also use piping gel btw
