Hi,
I'm going to try covering a board in fondant. How do I get it to stick to the board? Water?

Thanks!

Hi tsal - i give my boards a light brush with sugar syrup - that way the medium/fondant wont dry then crack.

Some use just a light spray of water -
I guess it is whatever works best for some.

Sugar syrup =
Equal parts Castor sugar & water
Bring to a slow boil - stirring
Allow to boil for 1 minute
Remove from heat
Pour into sterilised jar
Will keep in fridge for a Month.

So as not to contaminate your sugar syrup - it is best to pour a little into a dish and dip your brush in that -
That way your jar of sugar syrup stays clean and fresh.

Bluehue.

You can use water or piping gel mixed with a bit of water or clear corn syrup mixed with water..All will work fine!!

I cover my cake boards with sheer fanci foil first. After covering with fanci foil, I brush with piping gel and cover with fondant.
