I have a guitar cake due for Thurs - the b-day is actually Friday, but I'm bringing it for my co-worker on Thurs. Problem is that it is bigger than I anticipated.

I need to do some work ahead of time and planned to cover it in fondant and freeze it (like I always do) today (Sunday) then do the finishing touches as I have time this week (I"m working full-time!) And I don't relish the idea of staying up 1/2 the night on Wed to finish it. I also have two little kids to look after. But it won't fit in the freezer or even the fridge! icon_surprised.gif

I'm afraid to leave it out all week (that's 5 days). Then what if they don't eat it all right away and leave it out? The cake is original WASC with Indydebi's BC and covered in MMF.
Any ideas? TIA icon_biggrin.gif

Do you have a cooler big enough? I would think it would be cold enough in Canada for you to sit it oustide your door or in a garage in a sealed cooler.

Hi: You'd think, but I'm Calgary in the middle of a Chinook. It's forecasted to be 7- 10 degrees(celcius)- above 0 this week!

Can you get your hands on dry ice to add to the cooler? I guess at the very least, you could use a lot of cold packs. Or you could keep the neck of the guitar separate from the body for your freezer, then at the end, put them together on the final board and cover the seam with a fondant decoration.

Great minds think alike! icon_wink.gif I decided to do just that - keep the body separate from the neck and assemble in a fews days! Tracking down dry ice this week would be a challenge for me.
Thanks!
