Hello all icon_smile.gif I have a possible order for cupcakes for a wedding in February. When I speak with her, I want to sound like I've done this before (haha) and I'm not sure what to say about the stand. Do you make your own and build it into the price? Do you ask for a deposit and take the stand back when it's over? I really don't have a clue on this one...

Thank you SO MUCH!!

I'm doing my first one in February too! I gave the bride 2 options, either she can hire a stand (which costs around $50 here) and recommended a few local companies or I could make one (materials are around $25 which I will refund it if she returns it).
If she hires a stand I will set up for her but she will be responsible for returning it etc.

thanks so much for the reply. i didn't know renting them was an option but i will definitely look into that! that reminds me, with cupcakes instead of a wedding cake, are you making a small regular cake for them to cut into, or do they just feed each other a cupcake? icon_smile.gif anyone that's done this before - do you always make a small cake on top? thanks!!

I offered and they didn't want a cutting cake - I'm making a gumpaste flower topper to sit on the top of the stand. The tradition here is to cut the cake together but not feed each other a piece so its a little different, I guess it's whatever the bride and groom want.

I'm helping a friend with her wedding cake next year and its all cupcakes as well, but she wants a small (6") cake to cut into. She found a stand she wants to buy online that holds cupcakes and then has a space on top for the 6".

I did a small 6"cake on top for the couple to cut at their wedding.
But, suppose it is entirely up to the couple what they want...just cupcakes
or both...
Can't seem to get it uploaded, its in my photos..."cupcake wedding"
The stand was made for me by my SIL and I can make it any size that I
want, cause I can dismantle the sections
