A while ago, I saw a cake in an older copy of a Wilton book. I need to find it and can't. It was a two tier cake with a large gumpaste daisy on top. On the daisy, there was a Mickey and Minnie Mouse figurine. I believe it was an anniversary cake. I need instructions for making the daisy for the top. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
I remember seeing something like that recently... Is it the one in Wiltons 2000 yearbook on page 59? But the daisy is made of fondant.
If any one has the istructionsfor making the daisy, could you, please, post or email me.
Thanks in advance
From the 2000 Wilton book....
"Using 1pk. rolled fondant, make all petals at least 3-4 days in advance; reserve remaining fondant.
For large daisy: Roll fondant approximately 1/16 in. thick. Using tulip leaf cutter from kit, cut approximately 45 white petals and 8 green leaves. Add veins to pedals and leaves with wide end of veining tool.
Dust large and medium flower formers with cornstarch and position large leaves and petals to dry.
Cut white fondant blossoms using forget-me-not and apple blossom cutters. Brush back of flowers lightly with water and position on cake. Thin a 2 in. ball of buttercup yellow fondant with water; pipe tip 3 dot blossom centers. Position large daisy petals and leaves on cake, carefully pressing ends into fondant. Add lemon yellow to remaining buttercup fondant; roll into 3 in. ball and flatten on one side. Position for large daisy center; imprint pollen designs with small end of tip 17."
Hope it helps.
