I've been trying to decide what kind of cake to make for my family's Thanksgiving next week. I was wanting to take advantage of the chance to practice roses and use them on the cake. But then again I know my dad would be so disappointed if there's no pumpkins because the man loves his pumpkins. Then I thought, combine the two? Pumpkins and roses? It sounds crazy, but I have this idea in my head.. and you know.. it might work. What do you guys think?
I think you could totally combine the two. Make the roses a fall color, so that they are not pink or a light color. I've seen fall mums combined with pumpkins, so I don't know why you couldn't use roses instead. Go for it!!
Then a post a picture, so we can see it.

Cake's done.. complete with roses and pumpkins. The pumpkins didn't quite turn out like I wanted, but my dad liked them.
The picture is on here.
I know your cake is already done, but for future reference, Nicholas Lodge does a drop dead georgous wedding cake with roses and pumpkins.
