I have just been asked to do a sheet cake for our pastors' farewell next weekend so I don't have alot of time. The cake will be 15x22 -carrot with cream cheese icing. I would like to do a fall theme but would anyone have suggestions on how to keep it current and not so traditional? My first thought was flowers but nothing else comes to mind. Thanks for any ideas!

Mums and gerbera daisies are great fall flowers.

mmm...chocolate leaves!! I'm also wondering about mini fondant pumpkins - would they compete with the gerberas?

I just did two carrot/cream cheese cakes for 2 different churches and made them like hay bales... One is in my gallery, I dont have the other one up yet. Hands were really tired from piping hay but it was much easier than trying to decorate with cream cheese icing!
