I have gotten a request for a Blingy wedding cake, white the use of tropical colors, aqua, pink, green and other colors. I was just looking for any ideas that anyone had to help me give to this bride. What we have come up with so far is 3 tier square cakes with fondant quilting and in each X of the quilting there will be the color gems that she is using and the topper is blingy. If anyone has any other ideas I am all for it. Thanks!

Spray it with pearl - that will make the whole cake "shimmer" before adding the jewels.

Hi!
Are they using flowers? You could add crystals to the flowers like they do in bouquets. Or what about crystals on wires coming off the cake, you would have to cover the wires if going into the cake though.

Good luck!

I bride sent me a picture once of a cake that had a border of little mosaic mirrors around the top of each tier. I never made the cake, because she changed her mind to another one, but the idea was quite simple and effective, I think it was all set on a mirrored board as well. Sorry I never kept the picture, but I always thought it was an interesting idea.

I am thinking of the cake that was made for Miley Cyrus 16th. It has strings of sugar beads on it. Mayby you could incorporate something like that? Or a beaded trim on the cake board?
