AWOW! I've missed loads! Lovely, lovely cakes everyone! I especially like nanny's tree stump, siany's bunny and kathy's shoe. They're all fab tho.

Bashini, glad the move's gone well, soooo jealous of your cake room!

Can't help with ganache, only successfully made it twice and can't get it smooth for the life of me! I've just read what you've all said and I'm hoping it'll help me with a pigs in mud cake next weekend.

Yesterday was a bad day for me, my poor little girl was really suffering, crying, cwtchy, not herself at all, it took me twice as long as usual to make my cake. I got it done tho, not my best but my auntie (87 today) was delighted with it, she was nearly in tears! And my daughter's much, much better today, I'm so relieved. Btw, how do I see natt's cake stall?

AThats very pretty Maisie, I wondered where you were, guessed maybe your little girl wasn't well, glad she's on the mend. Just delivered my log and cupcakes, it was choc buttercream in the log and covered in ganache.

I have a cake to make next week for a lady in her 90's, was gonna make some roses and Gerbera's, plus some filler type flowers.

Oooh, I made pigs in mud cake last last, did you want to see it to copy it? Very easy and very chocolatey.

AThanks for the ganache tips. I'll check iut that YouTube on it.

Maisie I did the pigs in mud cake a couple of birthdays back form my eldest. I used a choc fudge recipe as she didn't like ganache. It was my first cake cake if that makes sense. It was my point of realising that actually I love this and I'm not too bad at it.

AHi all... I finally got to do a day of baking. I didn't get as much as I had hoped thoigh. I got my fruit cake covered and decorated so that is almost finished know, just a few finishing touches. And baked my chocolate cakes. Was hoping to have them decorated too but they're taking a while to cool because my kitchen is so hot and frankly I'm shattered after all the work I've been doing and not going to bed until 3am last night (up at 7am) because we had friends over. I think I'm going to call it a day and veg on the sofa instead. Looking forward to decorating the chocolate cake in the morning though.

The pigs in mud cake is one of my favs, would love to see it nanny!

AYes it was abit odd as she wanted the bride I one cake and the groom in the other no clothes on, with bums in the air, very strange, and I used 46 kit Kats.

AOh why not here is my pic too... I've actually made it twice for people along with pigs in cupcakes haha. I know when j make it each cake takes 24 kit kats and it's a seriously chocolatey cake yum.

AThanks everyone. :-) I love all the pigs in mud cakes, I remember seeing some from earlier in the thread I think (nanny's ducks one reminded me!) I hope mine turns out half as good.

I saw your stall natt, looks fab! I'm not on facebook so got my son to look but he wouldn't "like" it for me, "er, no mam, I am not liking cakes, all my mates will see"! What's not to like about cakes though? I don't understand!

Can't wait to see your fruitcake sugarluva.

ANatt, did you sell everything? So its definitely a good idea to do this then?

CaN I ask who you had to contact?

natt12321 Cake Central Cake Decorator Profile

ANot quite, made 8 cakes for the two days and about 100 cupcakes, came back with a little under 1 cake and about 15 cupcakes.

I think its worth it, in Swansea I googled the market and the info was on their website, bit sure about your area but the farmers markets in Wales site has all the details for all the farmers markets including contact details and I'm sure if you go in your local market there will be someone who can show you where to go to talk to the right people.

AWow you've all made such beautiful cakes this week! My new job is working with pigs lol so think I might be bringing one of these into work!

My easter baking was utterly derailed... Trying hard not too appear disgruntled... "it's time we painted the kitchen" says DW... "but.... Easter cake??...." 6 hours later and no cake... But all the cupboards are now white! 2nd coat tomorrow lol

AThanks natt, so glad you did well at the market. :-) I love white in the kitchen gray, looks so clean. Trouble is it gets dirty so quicky too, we painted ours just before Christmas and it needs doing again aleady. I'm off to bed now, it's been a long couple of days and we've got an Easter egg hunt in the morning. Goodnight, God bless and I hope you all have a happy Easter. :-)

Hello all, so glad I found this thread. I'm Lisa (32) living in Nottingham, UK. I started baking back in 2011 because I suffer from chronic arthritis and my limited mobility was causing me to become cabin crazy, lol. I originally started a blog back then to document my baking, and then look back on my progress and continue on my quest for perfection.

But pretty quickly after I realised it wasn't all about my progress, I was addicted! I don't bake as a business or anything, I bake mainly for myself, because I love every aspect. It makes me happy even if I don't get to eat whatever I've created. :)

Is there anyone around the east midlands area that fancies a baking bloggers session? I've found a few on Twitter and they're all up for it, but thought here would be a great place to find more peeps too. Feel free to message me. Thanks.
