Crimping was me!!  I have a heart crimper and a holly crimper - neither of which do the job really.  I do like the effect your one gives though Tiddy.  I hope you all have a lovely meet - and remember....we need new photos!

Mel, you lucky thing being able to see the Friends set!

Newstreet- I am a member of both pretty witty and paul bradford. I think Paul B has a more extensive list of tutorials. Pretty witty doesnt seem to have as many. I find pretty witty videos a bit annoying and irritating- You either see the top half of the cake or the bottom, but often the instructor is doing something in a part that isn't showing on camera. Paul B's cameras move (pretty witty cameras NEVER move), it pans up and down, goes really close so you can see the detail, and they even have cameras right above the cake so you can see what they're doing when they're making flowers, etc. Can you tell I'm a fan? I'm going to cancel my pretty witty membership because, apart from the irritating video set up, I don't think they have as extensive a collection of videos.

Kathy, I'm the same- I like Paul's accent and I like the fact that some of his videos are a 'work in progress'. Just today he was rooting around for his knife and some other bits. So funny.

AThanks for all the well wishes for my oldest, his hands still sore but he's soldiering on. I'm not sure about the swimming spirerite, I think we'll play it by ear, there'll be a lot of slides and stuff so not sure if it's the best place to go right now.

Spirerite that's a very long wait for you at the hospital yesterday.

Kathy glad your husbands X-ray and mri scans happened.

Hi again everyone, I haven't been online for a while, neither have I been baking :(. But hopefully going to get right back into it now. I have snook in for the odd read. I hope you are all well and the cakes you have been doing look wonderful. :D

To get myself back into it I am going to enlist in some tutorials (treating myself). Do any of u use pretty witty cakes, craftsy, or paul Bradford? They all look great to me, I can't choose :D

I'm a member of pwc but I barely go on it, I pay every month and I've not been on it for at least 7 months. I need to start using it more as I do enjoy the videos when I watch them. I've never been on Paul bradford's site in all honesty I'd never even heard of him before coming on here.

I can't believe you scrapped the sofa nanny but I understand your reasons.

Mel love that pic, I love friends, I still love watching the repeats just as much now as the first time watching them.

AEvening cake mates!

I've had a pretty busy last couple of days and now I'm knackered! We've been having a huge clear out and I've not long got back from the tip, it's all in boxes now where you recycle depending on what it is... The last time I went was with my dad when I was about 8... times have certainly changed! Haha!

God back and made dinner and now I'm just waiting (in)patiently for Supernatural at 10!:grin:

I am looking forward to our little get together tomorrow and I've been making a list too, just encase I don't forget anything! ...oh that reminds me... I need to speak to a lady about a cake...

Leah's a lot better, fingers crossed she can go to school tomorrow. I feel awful, bunged up, stinking headache and just bleugh, I'd rather me have it than Leah tho.

Nice to see you newstreet, hope your daughter's well.

AGlad Leah's feeling better Maisie.

I've decided to come to bed as cake decorating and tiredness do not mix, I've just sliced my finger open with a cutting tool, don't know why I thought it would be a good idea to slide my finger along it to remove icing I think I forgot it was double bladed. Its sore but I'll survive.

Hope you have a good meet up tomorrow ladies I'm looking forward to the pictures.

Morning all, have a fab day meeting up!! it's kinda like one of those clandestine cake clubs :)

Sorry you're feeling pants Maisie... I'm the same though- I'd rather have it myself than feel helpless watching someone else suffering it!

Mrs Gray is poorly today and I had to leave her on the sofa and go to work :( it's really strange.... she keeps getting what seems like bad food poisoning but I don't get it and we eat exactly the same thing.... it's not 'little Grays' before you think that lol- it's been going on sporadically for years.... I wonder if it's a food allergy or intolerance or something- how would you know? would a Dr be able to test or would they just say "keep eating things till something makes you sick the next day"?? as you can see I hate the helpless "I wanna help but I can't" feeling!!

I have bright sunshine yellow hands today from petal dusting wafer flowers last night! ha ha ha

My friend was like this before being diagnosed as coeliac Gray. I think she was asked to cut out all gluten for a month and then they checked her blood. I think she then had to try certain things to see how bad she was (turns out very). Definitely worth a trip to the docs though.

Forgot to say have a lovely mini meetup ladies! Have fun!

Also, cc is down tomorrow! What will we do??

Lastly, just in case anyone is having a bad day, I started mine by going to the petrol station and tesco, then realising when I got home that my flies were undone. Awesome.

AMorning all. :-) Thanks everyone, I'm not too bad, stinking headache tho. Leah's gone to school, shame I can't wallow in peace tho, have to take my mam to the doctors in a bit.

What Lizzy said about the sofa nanny - that exactly!

I hope you had a long coat on Lizzy, doesn't sound like it tho! I'll go one better shall I? Last Thursday I split my trousers! The seam on the backside! I was balancing my bag, a shopping bag to go on the passenger seat, my keys, phone and coffee, I plopped down into the car with it all in my hands and heard the rip! I'd finished in town, my trousers were black and so were my knickers and I had a long coat on. I was still mortified tho!!! :-D And now I've just put it on the World Wide Web!!

CC down tomorrow? Oh no, why? I'll be like a junkie without a fix.

Gray I think they do eliminate things to check for allergies, there's also skin tests they can do, that's more for additives and preservatives I think, and there is a pin prick blood test they can do for coeliacs, Leah has it cos people with Down's syndrome are very prone to it. I hope mrs Gray feels better soon.

I'm waiting for your funny story too now Gray.

I wonder how the girls are getting on in ystrad, emptying the shelves I expect, all that talk of lists, I bet they don't have a list between them! And even if they do I bet they buy more than they've got on it!

Quiet here this morning isn't it?

Hi cakey peeps!  How's the "meet" going girls? :-D  Remember....new pic needed!

Well I'm just taking a moment to breathe - been a hectic day so far - all the big bosses here.  Just been sought by 2 x big boss (so glad I tidied my desk!) so he could say hello.  Got some chocs from one of the visitors - Luxemburgerli  - apparently they have to be eaten straight away....aaaarrrgh - I need to point them up for WW!!  I have never heard of them but apparently they are "special".  Well it's nice to be appreciated as I did a whole heap of work for this visit and I missed a funeral to boot.  Not sure I will meet 3 x big boss (apparently he's a bit of a shy person) so in a minute, I'm going to change my shoes!

It's not IBS is it Gray?  That plays havoc in my house.  I've not been diagnosed officially but all the symptoms seem to echo what I see on NHS direct.  Stress is a big factor - and she has just had a very stressful time hasn't she.

Maisie - hope you feel better soon - my cold has receded to sniffing now - so grateful it's going.  Fingers crossed for Leah too.

ok... so my folks went thru an early 2000s oriental phase and while I was at uni in scotland they bought me an onamental samurai sword for chrismas... I was flying back in a weeks time and was a bit nervous about having a fliipin great sword in my hold luggage (mums 'just tell them it's a letter opener' was not helpful!)...

I phoned the airline to ask what to do and they said just to declare it on cheack in and it would be fine....

So come flying home day I checked in and told the nice lady about the big sowrd in my case and she said 'ok I'll put a big fragile sticker on the bag and you have to take it to outsized baggage'... it was heavy and I lugged it to the other end of the terminal then went through security....

I then milled around for over an hour shopping and suddenly I was called on the intercom and had to visit security!... the police were waiting for me! "is this your bag sir?" I quickly said that I'd phoned ahead, that I'd declared it at check in and they then apologied saying that the check in lady hadn't passed on the message....

As I walked away hovever the cuckling uniforms pointed out something stuck to the arse of my trousers... big and bold for all to see was the giant A5 fragile sticker!! it had come off as I was lugging the bag to outsized luggage and I'd been walking around displaying my fragile butt for an hour and a half!!!

I see what you mean kathy and its always worse when we travel so maybe it is stress... that could be why there's no clear pattern- I mean if you eat something and it always makes you poorly you know what did it, but if it only sometimes makes you sick you keep looking for what did it and it never seems the same thing twice... I think I'll send her the NHS page as I think she's partly worried it might be something more serious and doesn't want to be told more bad news - a bit of head burrying I know :( especially as the kitty seems to be having teeth problems and we are going away next week :(

LMAO at Maisie and Gray  , that's brilliant :-D And Gray - 'tell them it's a letter opener' - had me in stitches; your mum is brilliant! I have to wonder what people thought was wrong with you that they had to be careful with your arse  Also that no-one had mentioned it to you - gotta love the UK mindset of just letting you get on with it, no matter how weird you may look.

I'll add another one on behalf of my hubby then. On our first anniversary of being together he told me to get dressed up and meet him at Victoria station. It was all very romantic, and when I arrived there, he texted me (mobiles were quite new, he'd given me one, it was all very exciting) to go to the flower stall and tell them my name. I did this and the lady gave me a single rose with a note on it to meet hubby at the top of the escalator.

At this point I was about to explode with how romantic he was. As I was going up, I saw him at the top of the escalator all suited and booted, and immediately had a snorting giggling fit. He was standing there looking all suave, with his flies undone and his shirt poking out (well he promises it was his shirt...). What made it better was that he reckoned he must have been like that for the two hours he'd been wondering around London beforehand :D

It's at the top of the page Maisie - new software platform!
