AHi Nanny

Yes it's all got really out of hand, I think the thing is us parents got really close but from the start we said the kids choices would affect our friendship... However one friend didn't invite another's child to her daughters party now if it was me being friends I would explained how they are in different classes now and things change. That would of been too easy it would seem and the whole things been blown out of proportion and become personal. Unfortunately for me I'm stuck in the middle - Grrrrr !

Anyway must dash off to work now, but will get back on later x

ANo jo, it's not too late to make them now. I've made them two or three days before they're eaten and they're fine. They're better if you've got time to feed them a bit but yummy either way. It's a good cake, easy to make and very good tempered. I love making fruitcakes.

Hi nanny, the bin was a valentines day present from my husband years ago. :-D Yep I've got an airbrush for Christmas.:-D One more sleep nanny, I'm quite excited! Have to get my busy day today out the way first tho. I really am going now. Byee. :-)

Morning cakey peeps!  Still not 100% - can't shake this bl**dy cold.  I ought to have gone to work but feel dreadful.  We have a board meeting and a VIP over....oh well.  There's no point in trying to get a dr's appointment as they refuse to see you if you have a cold - there's a sign up and everything.  Slowly running out of Lemsips!

Roxy - I did speak about freezing cupcakes but in the end I made a pigs ear of them and we had them with custard!  Lol.  However, Suzanne said that she had done it successfully and I'm sure Nanny said that too.....apologies if I got that wrong.

Oh Maisie - at least you got something!  Even a bin (haha!).  I have never gotten anything - well one time I did but that's a very long story.  We don't do Valentine's day.  In all the 40 years that we've been together (oh my goodness - I just realised we first met in 1974!) we've never done it.  My husband didn't even do birthdays (none of his family did until I came along!).  So, I can forego Valentines.

Might try to find the lost colours today - I remember now, I got them because I bought an Alan Dunn Craftsy class for making an hibiscus but there were so many bits to buy (am still trying to get some of them) so I started with the colours.......

Has anybody done the characters from Little Mermaid?  I am struggling with the singing crab.  I want to model him but I just can't get it straight in my head.  I plan to have the mermaid and the crab out of the sea on a rock but if I can't get a good image, then I'll have change my idea.

Keep warm and well everyone!

Thanks ever so much Roxy - just watched the YT and I think I've got it now.  Couldn't begin to think how to tackle it.

Jo - sorry to hear about the kids' parties problems.  I used to find that kids would find their own level ground - it was often the parents who were the problem.  How's the work front now?  How's that mare of a boss?

Oh Sian - I forgot you were poorly too (I'm all about me today - sorry).  Considering that - those little kittens were amazing - even more now I know you were under par.

Roxy - really grateful (off to Google Wilton Sea Life mould now!).

Oh Tiddy - never rains but pours sometimes.  Sending some hugs.

Haha what you like Kathy, Actually just remembered I didn't end up getting the wilton branded one but a cheaper one off ebay that is the same I used it on the pirate ship cake for the starfish, shells and seaweed. I will try and find it for you. I have a few of the designs in these moulds some are wilton and others the cheaper ones.

Hi Lizzy glad to see you back how's things? you sorted with the builders now?

To much has happened in a month to remember Lizzy you know how busy this thread is. Some people went to CI and bought loads of lovely goodies to play with, Marvel won GF baker in a bake of comp and helped raise money for charity with one of his cakes, Kelsey's car went to KA heaven and she has just gone legal with her cakes, Maisie has got an airbrush for xmas of her hubby, we have a couple of new people joined us and everyone keeps getting sick. That about covers all I can remember.

Siany sorry to hear you still unwell, can't believe you managed to make such a great cake when feeling so poorly.

Lizzzzyyyy!!!!  Where've you been?????  Just look at the photos in this thread - that should give you an idea!

Thanks Roxy!  Not sure if I will get one as it's in China - I'm still waiting for my lizard skin mat...  I do remember buying something in Dunelm Mill recently that had shells on it.  Am going to hunt for it now.

I've just been a bit low and didn't want to come on moaning all the time Kathy. I miss everyone though (awww ) so I decided to pop back in and say hello.

No, builders not sorted roxy :( We do have the pipe done at last so that's a bit of a weight off, but the rest of it is ongoing and being ignored by them.

How're you both doing? Not feeling well I gather Kathy? Sending hugs (but still keeping my distance cos I don't want the lurgy )

Oh Lizzy - I can't believe they haven't finished - well, that's not true, I do actually believe it  - I lived through Christmas 7 years ago with no roof.  In the end you get very grateful for the smallest of things - I still remember Christmas dinner where we pushed our oil filled radiators around with us so we could have a cosy dinner (as there was no heating!).  I hope you get it sorted.  No - you don't want this lurgy - I've started sneezing like nobody's business - hope that doesn't mean I've caught something else. :(

I have just found a ton of stuff in the garage which I totally couldn't see before.  I think I have some sort of cake stuff addiction.......I might need therapy.:-D

I'm ok thanks Lizzy, sorry to hear you were feeling down I get like that sometimes and don't want to come on here but when I do I'm glad I did because chatting with this lot cheers me up. Good news on the pipe being done but not that the builders still haven't finished, no wonder builder have such a bad reputation when some of then carry on like that.

How did your anniversary go did your son end up taking you out?

LIZZY. Yay missed you lovely,

My update, kitchens falling apart, can't get new one I till after Xmas. I'm ill. Still! I met Tiddy & Nanny at CI. That's about all my news

How are you? How's the build, is it all finished now?

Anyone got any reindeer cupcake toppers that want to share. I just can't get it to look right. Having a break for the min then going back to them. The others are good but I'd like a Rudolph one to go with them. Thanks
