Glad it worked for you Kelsey. I saw that on her FB too. Hope she is ok. Horrid having family issues. As they say 'You can choose your friends....
Lol, how did you get the cake lace on without the colour smudging?

No, I thought about it for a few days and was thinking of asking on here and as I was thinking out my post I came up with the decision to let it dry then coat it again, let that dry for an hour to go tacky and then put the lace on it, it worked really well. I had to work out how to make it stick without water or trex as it would of ruined the colour. I was fully prepared to pull it off and re airbrush if it all went wrong lol

Minnie cake is done. Finally
Good thinking that Siany.
Your Minnie cake is lovely Kelsey, so smooth and precise you must be thrilled with it. I love your bow.
ARoxy I am happy. It was a 7am to 6pm job. Soo tired. I need to learn some ninja from tiddy!
Don't we all Kelsey, took me about two hours last night to put the cage bars on my cake, had to make the flowers and leaves this morning before my sister got here, luckily she was delayed until lunch time.
Have you done the cupcake to match or are you not doing them now because the party was downsized?

Awwww... You pulled it off brilliantly! Well done you! ;)
Thanks Nanny, no I covered the dome separately, used the wrap around method on the rest and then placed the dome on top.
AWow!!! Loving your Minnie cake Kuuushi!! Beautiful! :-)
Siany, your cake is gorgeous and good thinking!! :-) I just did my black lace. Put it in the oven for 20 minutes and checked, not ready, and another 5 minutes and still doesn't come out easily. So left to dry a bit more. And I was planning to take this one out and do another one and air dry it over night. But now I cannot do it as the first one is not done. Has anyone used the left over mix the next day?
I have Bashini but mine was to dry in the oven the first time I used it so I have air dried since, I need to give the oven another go. The mix was fine, it can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to seven days.
Did you do yours in a fan oven Bashini, if so what temp did you have it on. I did mine on 70 like it said and left in for 15 minutes and it was so dry it cracked when I tried to get it out the mat.
AMy oven I have to have it a bit hotter and it takes 15 mins, any lower and it just doesn't set . I did the white one day them coloured the rest and didn't use it till the next day. It was fine to use.

Thanks Sainy I think my oven needs to be lower maybe because it is a pretty new oven. I might have to find a reason to make a cake with cake lace on in the next few weeks to try again.
AMine is old and crap lol it doesn't even have numbers on the dials anymore where they have been cleaned off. It was cheaper to get an in oven thermometer that a new set of dials though.
I loved my old one had it for about 12 years, a gas one but it taking forever to cook anything so I finally got a new one. Fan ovens take a while to get use to when you've always had gas, or that's just me lol. I prefare gas but with having solar panels it is cheaper to have electric now.
AThanks so much guys! I'm quite happy with how it's come out. I'm sat here now waiting for my ganache to firm up a little bit on the cake so I can put the aeroplane on and cover the board. Then that's the third cake finished.
Haha Siany nines the same. I've scraped little lines next to the knobs so I know what temp my oven thermometer says it is haha!
AI was actually quite impressed with myself cos when I got the oven thermometer I set it to what I thought was 180 and I was bang on. It's sad how happy that made me. Lol

Roxylee, yes, it is a fan oven and had it on 70 and for 20 minutes first then another 5 minutes. Just now I took it out from the mould and did another one. I am leaving it to air dry. Can I leave the first one on a parchment paper to dry overnight?
AAnd the last one is done! Can't believe I only charged 25 for this. A mistake I WONT make again!

AThat look amazing Kuuushi!!! :)
I feel your pain but I have to go through that next weekend!!!
AOh bashini good luck!
I've got one next weekend, one the weekend after and the first week of September will be a killer! I've got a two tier high heel cake, two tier Cardiff city and horse racing mashup, two tier doc mcstuffins and a one tier Lego brick. *sigh*
