I agree that the cake looks like a movie prop. The whole picture looks pasted together. I watched her performance on her 16th at the awards and have to say I wouldn't care for my two little granddaughters (7 and 9) to see it. I can't understand all the lyrics but the performance and moves themselves aren't appropriate for a 16 yr old or the young girls who love Hannah Montana. As far as I'm concerned Brittney brought young girls today, and I mean young ones, down to some pretty trashy fashion lows. Hopefully Miley's parents won't let her go that similar route.

On the subject of boobs, I'd be happy for mine to shrink to the 34B they were before I gained this stress weight in the last two years. I'm in the same bras but they don't fit the same and I hate it. I'd much rather have less on top and look and feel better/healthier over all than have even boobs this big. I feel for you gals with "too much". A younger friend of mine told me years ago that to her it's a curse having big boobs and I can understand a little of that now.

Before my wedding (2.5 years ago) I went on the 5 Factor Diet. It's pretty easy to follow and if you don't mind cooking the food isn't boring. It's basically you have to have each of your 5 daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 2 snacks) contain the 5 factors. Protien, complex carbs, healthy fat, fiber, and a sugar free beverage AND you get to have a cheat day once a week. It was easy to follow and I felt AWESOME while I was doing it and I dropped a good amount of weight too. Then we started trying to have a baby and ended up having to go the IVF route and all the injections and the depression got to me and I blew up. We have decided to stop trying all together and I am looking forward to starting it up again. You have 5 meals a day, have 5 components in each meal and have 5 short workouts per week (they take 25 minutes - 5 different movements that take 5 minutes each). It didn't feel like you were dieting and the cheat day was awesome. It gave you something to look forward to and it didn't slow your weight loss at all.

My mom is a lifer in weight watchers and she loves that. I think my hubby would like WW too. I wasn't a huge fan, but when I did that I had to go to meetings and stuff and I hate that sort of a thing. It feels like AA or something.

yeah the saddest part is that when Miley turns 18 Disney will boot her out on her big Boobs. Then the fame will fade and then she will have to have kids, shave her head or be a drunk to get any attention..Ha
We make cakes and everyone loves us. Cake is a big weakness and we
don't need big boobs.. hahaha well we wont talk about butts........

Wow I dream of Cakes! You look fantastic! You look like a totally different person! I unfortunately look like your before, including the hair. But bigger legs. I unfortunately inherited my dads side of the family!
The funny thing though, I bake cakes and stuff and I really dont care if I eat that stuff or not. I will do small tastes to make sure its got the correct amount of sugar, etc. but Im not one to sit down with a cupcake or piece of cake unless Im pmsing or something. My problem really is that I have no metabolism! I can look at food and gain weight!

Jeanne, I never went to the meeting, just did it online. I knew I wouldn't go to the meetings, I have no patience.
Weirkd Thank you so much, I have fun when I run into people who haven't seen me since I lost the weight.
I love cake and buttercream and will sit down and munch if I want...so I really have to watch it.

I love this thread, both the Miley and the "other" stuff!

I got to go to Tulsa in Sep08 and see Marina Sousa and her partner Dawn Nemec do demos at the Nat'l Wedding Cake Show. They used the show to demo and practice their cake in the upcoming Sweet 16 challenge. They started with 'bare' cake and went from there. It was cool, and they are both super friendly.

It was (Marina's words) an upside down chandelier cake. Here's a picture of it, but I don't know if it won or not.

It's like a Duran Duran song says: "Apply your lipstick, for dying in public."

No wonder so many girls (and boys) have such low self-esteem and self-image, when they are constantly picked apart "piece by piece". So what if she has big teeth? I had "big breasts" in 6th grade... people can be cruel.

The same people who call a celebrity "too thin" will call them "fat" after they gain even 5 pounds. It's just very sad. icon_sad.gif

As the mother of a daughter, I feel really sorry for Miley and the negative criticism she receives for what the public "expects" from her. I don't agree with her clothing, but I bet she's not the one controlling that.
If she were to appear dressed like Laura Ingles (sp), people would still say something... icon_rolleyes.gif

wierdk: Muscle burns fat so lifting weights helps you lose weight better than the treadmill. (at least for me) You should do an aerobic exercise for your heart of course but in order to lose weight you need to build muscle.
Lifting weights doesn't take long and you can do it while you watch your favorite TV show.
The cake is fake imho.
My boobs are just right for my size thank god! They do sag way to much though!
This is a funny thread. icon_smile.gif

Jen...

Just an FYI.. You're right.. muscle does burn more calories than fat does.. but.. the only way to truly lose weight is through cardio. I am a certified trainer and have to beat this into peoples heads because everyone is so used to hearing "muscle burns more calories than fat." The issue with the statement is that unless you're a body builder, you're muscles won't be burning many more calories than they were before you started working out.

Also, losing weight is almost 80% fodo choices, and 20% exercise. Exercise helps keep you motivated and keeps you healthy, but healthy food choices will determine how much weight you end up loosing.

I hope that helps. And btw idreamofcakes.. congrats, you look amazing. You're an inspiration for many!

Coulodn't agree more. My 5 yo loves Hannah. I will watch the show with her and am thoroughly disgusted by her. She's rude, mean, talks back and has an attitude. DD has lost that show b/c she has picked up that bad attitude of Hannahs. No way, not in my house. She's earned it back, but she knows that she can't act like her otherwise it goes away again and for good next time. We are slowly weaning her away from that show and onto a more positive show.

She really does remind me of trash and just another Brittney in the making. What parent in their right mind would let their 16 YO daughter date a 25 YO man? And you really need to wonder what is wrong with this 25 YO man if he can't find a woman his own age to date. I predict another teenage pregnancy on our hands within the next 2 years.

You all are to funny. You should be me in the breast department. I am a plus size of 24 and can never find shirts to fit. They always have way to much material for my 46 barely an A girls, which are such different sizes my friends named them mid and get. I swear that I need to have bras made for me. To get them big enough to go around I have to go up cup sizes and get inserts. Just waiting for that wedding night suprise.

Miley has grown up fast and when you can get thongs in little girls undies and the same clothes there as in the womans department what are we saying to children. My sister doesn't even let her kids play with the Bratz dolls cause some of them come out with thongs on.

As for the cake--fake!!!

Well thanks for the advice. I do believe that I need to burn fat with cardio and weights. Probably do both along with diet. I really need to!
I love Marina Sousa's cakes. Ive got her site bookmarked and love to just go there and look at her work. Both her and her assistant are very talented and I want to be her when I grow up!!! lol
I would love to be able to go to the OSSAS show. I bet its really inspiring and jaw dropping! A email buddy of mine won a few years ago. But she didnt compete the following year because she had shoulder surgery.
I think its ok that we talk about other things than cake sometimes. We all have other interests and lives that make us, "US" and its great to be able to hear about other peoples lives! So so what if right its Boob Central! Ok by me!

Ya know, I've heard it said by some celebs that bad press is better than no press. Miley has been in the press a lot lately. Mostly for negative things. It's hard to say what things are true and what are not. I think sometimes they(celebs) pull dumb stunts just to get in the news. It's too bad they don't see the influence they can have on young people and make better use of their famousness(is that a word?)

I'm on board for boob central. This thread has really lifted my spirits these past few days. It's good to hear from other folks in the same boat as myself. I'm skinny, have flat saggy breasts, and too much extra skin left on my stomach from pregnancy. We all have things that we want to work on to improve ourselves. I don't think anyone is exempt from that. I think it's great that we can encourage one another, offer advice, comisserate(not sure I spelled that right), etc. I love this place!

Yah, its nice to have people that can relate! Also talk to adults since I dont get much of it. I dont want my neighbors to think im the Crazy Cake lady down the street! (almost could of been the cat lady but we got rid of two of them so now we are down to two...but think one of them is prego.. anyone want a kitten?)

Audrey that cake you posted is so unique...I love it.

Alex, thanks for the encouraging words, coming from a trainer it means a lot to me.

As women, I think we talk just as much if not more about our boobs then men do icon_razz.gif Hey when I first got mine I couldn't keep my hands off of them. LOL! It was like they weren't mine at first, so it was kinda like a new toy...ok this is coming off as inky and thats not what I mean AT ALL,
I was more fascinated with the shape of them I guess. Several girls at my work had them too (and none of them were big, they just looked normal, one girl had 32B's done) and we would catch each other all the time talking about them way too much! I hope this is coming across right and not wierd... icon_confused.gif

No, not at all I dream! I understand what your talking about. Ofcourse when your born with them, its not the same fascination. But Im sure if I got a tummy tuck and lipo I would be checking myself out in the mirror all the time to see how much smaller it was!
My husband said he wouldnt mind having a set that he could take on the road with him to play with. I had to laugh.

I finally figured out that show you were talking about Phinnes and Ferb?. We watched it last night. We actually have watched it a couple of times before but I didnt know what the name of it was. But its a cute show.
Off the subject of boobs and tv shows, does anyone have the recipe for enhanced royal icing? Ive tore my house apart looking for the A. Cake mag that had it and I used last Sept for an Eiffel Tower. I found the cover but cant find the magazine and its driving me nuts!!! (more than I usually am)

Its always nice to have someone you can depend on like that . So you were 232lbs and your down to what now? You dont look like you weigh more than 115 from that picture! I wish I had your willpower to be able to lose like that. I unfortunately am a stress eater so whenever Im stressed I tend to over eat.
