My friend wants me to make her husband's 55 Ford Truck for his birthday. I told her to bring me a model of the truck so I can study it and figure out if I could do it or not. I know it will be made mostly of fondant with some gumpaste. I just don't know if I will be getting myself into a mess if I decide to do it. The party isn't until the end of march so should I make a practice cake to see if it's something I want to take on. If any of you have advice or any websites with instructions for making a truck cake I would greatly appreciate it. Also, there is a lot of chrome detail on the truck so where can I get silver edible paint? Micheals/JoAnn's or an online supplier??
