How would I go about finding a good edible printer?? What kind do most of you have? Are they expensive? All suggestions appreciated.

I have both a canon and an epson. The canon was well over 100.00 and I got the epson for 29.00 when target had them on sale.

I absolutely HATE the canon. It's always clogging, even after the first use. As soon as I can, I am selling it!

Many have posted on this subject and the general concensus was epson was the way to go.

mnsnow, you use a regular printer? Do you order edible ink then from somewhere? Sorry for the dumb questions, but never knew anything about them before. If you do order the ink where is a good place to order from, and are they expensive?

I have a cannon, and I do have lots of problems with clogging. I think it's the cartiridges, not the print heads. I've been ordering mine from KopyKake, but I'm thinking about finding a different supplier.

But, aside from the problems, I'm glad I've got it. It sure makes those last minute orders easier and gives me a larger range of design possibilities.

So Epson seems to be the way to go with printers, Ive heard of lots of clogging problems from people. What does ink run for an Epson, and is Kopykake the only place to buy them from? Thanks everyone for all the advice.

Beware the cannon printers. I had the IP3500 and have had nothing but trouble. I am replacing it with a epson.

I've had one for 5-6 years now. I have a Canon i550. I used to have nothing but clogging issues but I found it was the ink cartridges giving me the trouble. I now buy them from tastyfotoart and haven't had a problem since, even when i dont print for a while.

I love my Epson and I get everything for it from Kopykake.

What brand Epson? And do we need to buy the whole printhead thing at copy cake plus the edible ink tanks? I am just trying to understand, lol.

Sounds like the printer itself is the cheap part but converting it over is what costs money......

Here is a question, if you had to choose what to spend $ on, would you get the printer or the agbay???

It's definately epson for me. I bought my inks and frosting sheets from kopykake and have been extremely happy and the 2 times that I had any issues they had fantastic customer service.

I have an epson and have never had a problem with it. It sits for months at a time without being used and I have never had a clog. I also use kopykake ink with no problems. If you go to kopykake's website there is a list of prints they supply ink cartridges for. There are only certain models that will work.

I have an Epson regular printer and I love it - can't use it with food inks though. It's never given me clogs and I've had it for years. I can only imagine you get the same results with the food color ink tanks for the Epson. epson is probably just the better of the two brands. Back when I got mine, Epson was not even an option. Guess if I had to do it today, I would go with Epson hands down.

I have a cx8400 and a cx7450 both are Epson all in one .
The printers are just a reg ole printer. Its not a special printer ( well to me it is ). You just have to make sure that you can get the Edibla Ink that will fit the model you chose. I can get ink for both of these at Kopykake.They do have a cross reference chart on their site Kopykake.com so you can ge the ink and icing sheets both there. You cant get ink for every model and brand of printer.
I guess it would deend what you use the most asa far as the agbay! I love my Edible printer

Yea! thats what i said.. Agbay makes cake leveling and torting tools. at a wow price of $150 and $250 for the deluxe model.
