Today, I have been reorganizing all of my cake stuff because it is getting out of control! While I was doing this I started wondering what everyone else had in there cake caddy. So if you don't mind to entertain me for a minute, would you let me know what's in yours?

Too many things!! I have to take some time to re-org too, but it is right smack dab in the middle of wedding season, so it's not gonna happen right now!

At this time, I have my fav brushes, lustres, small cutters that I use all the time, some colour gels that I need to replace but haven't gotten around to yet, my fav spatulas, toothpicks for picking out the little things that I don't like in icing, all my icing bags, tips and paraphernalia that goes with that. When I deliver a cake, I add a full icing bag and my camera - the whole thing becomes my emergency kit. There is definitely more in there, but I can't think of what else without getting it and rummaging through it!

My caddy is pretty empty.. it just has my tips (mostly rounds), piping bags, powdered food colors, flower nails, and some random stuff that I don't really use. Now my rubbermaid drawer unit.. that's another story.. icon_wink.gif. That has all of my gumpaste stuff and my air brush and all that jazz. I keep all of my americolor gels and petal dusts on my desk where I make my flowers and stuff.. I guess my caddy is all spread out around my cake room.. LOL.

Let's see I have to giant screw cabinets that hold my tips, souplers, glower nails and such. And then I have small little 3 drawer plastic cabinets that hold my luster dust and my cutters, shimmer dust. Everything else is just in different drawers. See my whole downstairs is my shop. My colors sit on elevated shelves on top of another cabinet. Soory this is so long. I get carried away LOL

I bought the Wilton one with all the stuff in it when I took the first class, it seemed huge then but by now I really don't use much of what came in it. It really can't hold all my colors, dusts, or tips, so to finally answer your question, I just use it as my travel cake kit so I keep my doubles in spatulas, bags with the coupler already, scissors, toothpics, small conts. of crisco, powdered sugar, and corn starch, small vanilla, some powdered gumpaste and an empty cont. w/lid (for making glue), measuring spoons, a baggie with some plastic wrap (for making icing bullets), a couple of brushes, mini marks-a-lot, a small water bottle, and then I would load whatever colors or dusts I need and cont. of icing. Weez!...I think that's about it.
I just went through organizing but got stuck halfway...I like to have things handy and I just need to make more space. So I organized my cake stuff icon_biggrin.gif but not my gumpaste or cookie stuff icon_sad.gif

When I took a class in March, I got a tackle box from Wal-Mart and filled it up (after a thorough cleaning, of course thumbs_up.gif ). I filled it with everything so I could take it to class and then I took Wilton Fondant and Gumpaste so it stayed full. It has all of my tips, paste colors, gumpaste tools, including cutters, spatulas, rulers, couplers, icing bags, small containers of shortening, water, ps and cornstarch (for fondant/gumpaste work), stamens, toothpicks, disposable gloves, you name it, it's in there! Now, when I start to decorate, instead of pulling out several boxes of stuff, I just open it up! icon_lol.gifthumbs_up.gif
