I have been going through my recipes all day trying to pick the one I want to enter into this contest. I think I am going to do a chocolate cover cherry cupcake.

A chocolate covered cherry is in each cupcake as well as on the top. So here's my ??

Should I use maraschino cherries or washington cherries? I am thinking maraschino would be perfect for inside the cupcake since they are small and won't take up much space. And I think washington would be better for the top because they are bigger and will be prettier.

How do these 2 differ in taste?

What about a dollop of cherry pie filling? They have the perfect amount of tartness to them. I actually made some chocolate covered cherry cupcakes myself the other day. I mixed some cherry pie filling into the batter and WOW they were super moist. The chocolate part was that I served them in a pre-made chocolate cup (sld in the freezer dessert section). Soooooooo yummy! Then I topped it off with a chocolate maraschino cherry for looks....

I never even thought of just adding a little bit of cherry pie filling. That's a great idea. Thanks!!!!
