Thanks amia! icon_smile.gif

No I don't mind at all. I just thought it was funny that I hadn't been on all day and I checked my pics and it had jumped from 56 to 189! So I was just wondering how that could be? icon_confused.gificon_eek.gif LOL! icon_biggrin.gif

I noticed the comment was removed- thanks! It really was annoying icon_sad.gif

I just hope I don't get a little paranoid from this!

Don't be paranoid! Your work is beautiful! I don't know why people go out of their way to be mean. It's so much easier to just be nice.

I don't have time to read the whole thing but I did check your work and ALL your work is beautiful, don't let a tasteless comment ruin your day! People should know that if they have nothing nice to say better say nothing at all. icon_evil.gif "To foolish words deaf ears".

I am so sorry this happen to you! I am kinda new to all this but, I do not make a cake without getting on cake central and looking for ideas! I thought that was kinda the idea? It is so easy to look at something and think, that would be a cool cake (or cookie) I was at the mall yesterday and looked at a kids toy that was a tree and thought "that would be a cool cake". Do not let one person who is just mean make you doubt yourself or take away from your excellent accomplishment!

Jen, I just viewed your gallery and please, please don't let one ignorant person get to you. You do beautiful work! I just did my first sugar run-in piece and that technique is a lot of work. I soon found out that I need a lot more practice!!! I also left you a comment on your fireman cupcake display!! It is fantastic!

Best regards,

zenu,
I'm so glad you adorable cookies got more views! (loved those!)
I didn't want to presume to include your name, but I was refering to you with respect to the 'others' that got rude comments!
I remember someone getting a 'boring' comment on an extrodinary wedding cake.

thanks again to all of you!
and I hope this helps anyone else that might find this sort of nastiness on their work.

Copying a design as an insperation is totally acceptable, and we probably all do it, but making a retarded comment as if she's perfect and walks on water who "never copies" , is just plain dumb and stupid. And NO, don't let it go, we are enjoying this too much !! sounds like this person is mentally impaired and needs a Lobotomy . maybe stick a cookie up her you know what !!icon_razz.gificon_lol.gificon_cool.gif your cookies are PERFECT and it bothers that "thing" who made that comment, so maybe make more of it and show this "thing" how talented you are !! icon_twisted.gificon_razz.gificon_cool.gificon_lol.gif

I was wondering that myself. The only explaination I could come up with is: Jen stated that she got the idea from her daughter's coloring book page, so I'm guessing she cut out the design and used that as a template for cutting the cookie dough. Is that correct?

That does make sense, being that I've done that once before myself lol...Although the ones that I've done didn't have that many curves just straight lines.

She's a hag who doesn't have a life nor the talent to do these beautiful cookies.

It's really unfortunate when someone has to put down another person to make themselves feel better. Me thinks she needs to get bitten in the a$@ by a filthy nasty dog lol.

Jen, For a long time I stopped coming to CC because of thes snide remarks. I've been back for about 2 months now and am dissapointed that this still seems to go on. I saw another post here regarding Cake Divas' creations. I wonder sometime what went in someone's childhood that would make them be so rude. I think it would help everyone who wants to think or say a mean thing to take pause and think about others the world over who are really, really, struggling right now and put that into perspective. It's time for everyone to be more conscience of others' feelings.

Kind of rotten to start burning bridges as you never know when you someone's thoughts or help....we all will remember that name. I agree with fearless baker about the comments though. It's cake decorating not world politics! We should celebrate cake and icing, not fight over it!

The cookies were great loved the colors!

The one thing that did strike me though, was how easy it was to find this person's website via google. I thought, hmmm...you log onto CC and make no posts, post no cake pictures, and only go around making rude comments on other's photos...and yet use your REAL business name?? And your rude comments involve copyrighted characters, which you yourself make?? Usually when people want to be nasty (for no reason) on the internet they don't use their real name!! Something seems fishy to me.

Not that I specifically want to exonerate Joni's but...couldn't she herself be a victim of the hoax too? I.e. some nasty person (or just a stupid prankster, hacker, whatever) likes to log onto CC using names of established businesses, just to whip people into a frenzy... I always wonder if it was a former CCer who was at some time flamed for something to do with copyright characters, and who periodically logs in under an assumed name just to make hurtful comments to random people.

Just a thought! Either way it's downright obnoxious and I'm sorry you had to endure it.

Thanks ceshell and you are right. Just because this person used that name does not mean they are the same person who has the website. I'd be willing to bet they are not the same and joni is also a victim here.

This member who made the rude comments has been taken care of and so will anyone else who makes a CC account just to make rude comments on cakes. They will be quickly banned from the site and their comments deleted.

Also, remember that this may just be some teenager out for kicks. If it is, then there really is no reason to get upset over it. It's hard to avoid people just trying to get a rise out of us but we can get rid of them.

Just remember to report things like this as soon as you see them. It keeps it from getting out of control.

hope everyone had a good holiday!
I just got back and wow! so many kind words!
I can't get over it!

as for how I did the cookies...
as I posted I printed the coloring pages from Disney, cut them out and cut the dough with a knife around the image. (I bought an exacto knife for this one, LOL!) I also made sure that the dough was really cold and stiff before I started cutting.... I'm really sorry I don't remember who icon_redface.gif but someone posted a thread about doing this....
then I piped the black outlines... then filled with color.. using a pin to pull/push color into the corners and small spots.

my advise for piping is to have the image right next to you and look for 'markers' to indicate key positions. i.e. I started with the tail because I could just fallow the cookie lines, then I looked for elements that lined up so I could judge were to start the next lines and details...

I did pipe a lot of the detail before filling, but for some of the really fine stuff, like the eye-brow lines, l went back after with a edible marker. (I realized after that I should have done that with more of the lines than I did...) for the eyes, I piped the white, then went back with the marker and colored in the pupil (leaving the white high light) and then painted the blue irises (because I didn't have a blue pen) I also tried to 'paint' on the red RI for the mouth, but that didn't come out so great (thankfully hard to see in the photo, LOL!)

also, I don't make my cookies very thick and I should have let the big Ariel cookie cool on the sheet. I tried to move it too soon and it broke in two places (at the tail and cracked where the stick ended near her chest) I carefully let them cool, then flipped them and glued the pieces back together with RI and put a glob on the weakspots. after it dried it was good to go, and you couldn't see the cracks from the front... plus the decorative RI on the front furter strengthen it icon_lol.gif

What a creep! Don't let the one idiot bother you hon, you do excellent work. You may feel you are no being creative, but you still have to be VERY talented to do what you do so well. I loved your Chocolate and teal daisy mini cakes - your attention to detail is awesome! I will freely admit, I have my creative slumps too, and when I do, this is the first place I go for inspiration!

My first thought was to contact a moderator, but I see it has all been taken care of.
It happens from time to time on all websites. Trolls come on to see if they can stir everything up. Delete them and move on.

Thanks for the directions!
My people like the old-fashioned cookies mostly, not the cute decorated ones; so I don't know when I can use your instructions, but I will use them someday!
