Unfortunately, Texas is very strict regarding food safety, and it is illegal throughout the state to sell food made in your home. You must prepare the food in a licensed commercial kitchen. You can call your county health department if you have more questions. Sorry. icon_sad.gif

edit: Yes, you can do it in your home if you build a second kitchen with a separate outside entrance. Again, your county health department will help you with all the specific regulations.

You know I have heard about some really strict penalties in Texas if you are caught selling from you home but I have to tell you this. It was so weird. I was watching Road Tasted on Food Network last night and there was a lady on there that has a brownie business. She is the one who makes the Aztec brownies. She is in Texas and she was talking about how she started her business from her home. So either she did not get caught or there is a loop hole somewhere.

I would definitly check it out.
