I am getting ready to package and ship some decorated cookies. Question for all of you experts. Do you charge your customer for the packaging materials to ship? I am very new to this and I didn't figure on the bubble wrap being so expensive. She is paying for the shipping cost but not for the materials to pack. I guess I should have thought about this beforehand. I don't think I am a good business person!

I have only shipped once, but yes, I did charge for shipping which included material costs. I got a whole roll of bubble wrap at WalMart for under $3. I used half of it for the order. I also bought a box for $.97 at WalMart. Throw in a couple cents for the tape and label. I charged $10 for shipping and came in just about right (about $5 for the materials and $5 for shipping).

It's a learning process. You will remember next time! icon_smile.gif
