My recipe is from the Better Homes and Garden cookbook. It's the cream cheese sugar cookie recipe. I absolutely love the flavor and texture. It doesn "spread" a bit, so it won't keep super sharp shapes, but it does work well and just kind of "softens" the cutter image. It can be crisp or slightly soft depending on how thick you roll it. I just love it and so does everyone who tastes it.

(ETA: it's not in my newer BHG book, but in the old one from 13 years ago. I just saved that one page from that old book! It was in my Moms old book too from ??? (I think) Must not have been a favorite to have disappeared, but my family sure loves it!)

I love it so much I don't want to try Martha stewart's recipe or the no fail cookie recipe! I would hate to go through all that work to find it doesnt' taste as good to me.

Does anyone else have that family/customer favorite? There are TONS of recipes, so I'm assuming there are lots of variations in what people prefer to use.

And if, you were to suggest a substitute for me, what sugar cookie is soft and holds shape well? I abhor crispy sugar cookies!!! It doesn't need to be SOFT, soft, just not crunchy.
