Haven't tried applesauce, but I have used Cool Whip.

Cake mix (any kind)
Cool Whip (lite or regular)
1 egg.

Mix together (will be very sticky). Roll in powdered sugar. Bake 10 minutes at 350ish. Very soft and chewy. I love them!!

have the recipe w/cool whip...mine says cake mix w/pudding in mix...
noticed yours did not mention the pudding in the mix...

had several boxes of cake mix w/o pudding...so that's why was going to use the one w/oil... of course, i do weight watchers (ha) so using applesauce works in cakes..just curious about the cookie recipe

thanks

I've always used this recipe with Duncan Hines (so no pudding in the mix), and it works great.
