I just had an order for a bucket and mop cake. Apparently Tuesday is custodian day (didn't know there was such a thing).

I'm looking for some advice from all of you experts. How many layers should I stack? Should I just fill and layer or put each layer on a cake board and stack? Should I stabilize it by doweling through the center?

I'm covering it in fondant. Tint piping gel blue for water; covering a dowel rod with brown fondant and stick it in the "bucket" to look like a mop handle sticking out of the bucket.

Any and all advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Anna

what a cute cake that will be! But I your number of layers is going to depend on the servings you need. If it is going to be 6-8 inches high I would think of it like 2 separate cakes so put a board in between the bottom and top two layers!
