With the success of selling my cake rolls, I have come to realize that the price of the ingredients is going up. How do I tell folks, who are used to paying a certain price, that the next time they order it will be a few dollars more? Usually I have a small flyer posted with prices....would it be courteous to explain a price increase?

tell them that they were at an introductory price, and if you do make a flyer up with the new prices, you can add at the bottom, 'prices subject to change'. i dont think you need to explain.

yes, and if you have a target goal increase you can get there small % at a time..

After I opened I realized that I needed to make more money so I waited 30 days and raised my prices 10%

Then after 90 days I raised them another 5%..so far no one has complained.

I will wait 6 month's after my opening date to raise them another 5%
