Need a little help on my son's groom cake. His boat is he's other love. So I have to make the grooms cake a john boat. Any ideas on how to get that john boat look? I'm new to cake making

a john boat is one of the simplest (boringest) designs for a boat.
easily made by just taking a sheet cake and carving it.
tho' it might be more fun to do the sheet cake as the water and making a john boat out of gumpaste or similar -- could even have a figure of fisherman in boat
