I am making a football cake. I need to make numbers and name, but my handwriting stinks. So I want to flood the numbers and then place them on the cake. I am going to print them out on the computer the size I need. What do I use to flood them? Does thinned royal icing work or do I need to use color flow(I don't know how!) The numbers and letters will be fairly small.

If you start with a mix, Colorflow actually IS thinned royal icing (like the one made by CK products-- they tell you to just add more water to the royal icing mix if you want to make colorflow icing).
If the numbers are small enough, you could just pipe them in royal icing with a large round tip (like a 6 or 7). That would give you nice letters without the extra work of flooding them.

Just my humble opinion! Good luck! Lindsay
