I want to give Chocolate Cookies with Chocolate and White Chocolote Drizzle as Christmas Gifts but what is a good way to present it? I thought about getting cookie boxes and nice tissue paper.

Anyone have any ideas about this?

I've given away baked items as Christmas gifts before. I usually get a cute container or platter to put them on. In fact, I usually buy about 10 or so the day after Christmas for half price and save them for the following year. I just wash it up before putting the food on it.

In the past I have given cookies and other assorted pastries in boxes with pretty tissue as christmas gifts. It has always been a big hit. I worked for a Dr. that asked me to make huge lavish boxes to give as gifts to our refering doctors. That went over great!!! I made a nice chunck of change. I think if I dont make pastry boxes my friends will think something is wrong. I do have a few friends that put in their request early.

I often give baked goods to my neighbors for christmas. Last year one of the local grocery stores had plates and matching mugs for sale $1 each. I gote a set for everyone. In the cup I put homemade fudge and around the cup I put cookies and then wrapped the whole thing in cello.
I also visit the thrift stores often and if I find pretty serving plates -christmas or otherwise - I'll pick them up and run them through the dishwasher and use them for serving platters for christmas cookies.

Years ago when we were very dirt poor and could not afford gifts for my sisters and their families, would make a big tray of cookies as a "family gift". I think it was well appreciated.

I always give cookies as christmas gifts. It's fast easy and cheap lol and they taste good.

I normally go to Walmart and pick up those pretty plastic "tins" that have christmas designs on them or even Dollar Tree. I then lay down some wax paper to cover the inside and a little extra to fold over the top of the pile of cookies and snap the lid on. I then take an either tape the lid down by wrapping tape all the way around like they do with the mail order companies or I take some ribbon and make it into a package.

You could also get some of those seliphane (sp) baggies like you'd use for a birthday party favor bags.... take and put them in there and tie with a pretty ribbon and present it like that.

The possibilities are endless. Just let your imagination run wild! I've even bought something they collect like my mom collects Santa stuff... I went out and got her a Santa cookie platter (nice heavy glass plate with santa on it very pretty) and placed it in a gift box for a shirt or sweater or something and placed all the cookies on the plate and wrapped it with colored plastic wrap and then added some padding.... tissue paper... and then taped the top on and wrapped it up. Was a nice surprise. icon_smile.gif

The females in our family have been getting together over the past few years and have been baking gifts for our friends and other family members. We figure out how many gift baskets we each wish to give out and we each figure out how we want to wrap 'em. We each have found that our local dollar store has the cutest packaging stuff for our gifts. I purchased med. size xmas platters ($1 each) and each variety of cookie will be in a separate bakery bag with the little tabs that crimp over the folded top ($1 for 8 bags) in xmas motifs/colors. Not only will they get great cookies, but they will also receive a xmas platter to use for next year.

hat boxes can make a nice presentation too.....with some tissue paper in and around the cookies.....I usually divide the layers of cookies with a round of parchment paper or colored cello that you can get in rolls at christmas time. You can also buy plain hat boxes and decorate them using wrapping paper or even copied photos of family and friends and then do the hodge podge technique or whatever it is.....you know where you put on some glue...then the photo and then more glue over top? Makes for a nice keepsake too..if you're doing it for family. Might be nice to gather christmas family photos from past years to use to decorate the box.

check your local dollar store. The one near me had buckets printed with santas and snowmen. they also had large platters and mugs that I will be using for cookie bouquets. I have to buy so many of them that the dollar store is now my favorite. My friends and family have come to expect their cookies every year, they started asking about them two months ago!

Every year I host a cookie decorating party where we decorate a ton of cookies and then box them up for each other and other family members. That way the work doesn't fall only on one person and you get a neat variety. We usually used store bought cookie boxes to pack them up.

I give out cookies every year. The neighbors look forward to it! I went to the Goodwill store the other day and found cookie tins for 25 cents each! That was my find for the month. I bought all they had. I think it was about 20 of them.

Yes, I did them for my neighbors last year and will do it this year. I bought nice boxes that look like the Russell Stover candy boxes and Santa bags made by Wilton at CandylandCrafts. My family gets a nice reusable plate (found plastic decorative plates at Wallymart last year) with more cookies.

I make the cakes, my DH makes the cookies. We are going to give CCC to our parents. I bought some Christmas tins from Target that we will fill up.

Going to Costco today and see what I will find there as well.
