My grandmother passed down tons of old pans to me... One of them is a round ring about 5 inchs tall and it has two plates (One pumpkin and one Happy Birthday design) That fit into the top of the circle.. I think thats how it works.. Can someone explain a little more about how to bake this?? Also can I bake the topper seperate then add it to a cake??

I have the pans, You just pop the top of choice into the ring pan grease and bake, If you want to just use the insert, I would bake in the ring with enough batter to cover the insert only, trim off excess and add to a seperate cake.
Good Luck, But for the record I am 47 and bought the pans myself,I really am getting old!!! j

I wanted to do a reg cake and icing it then add the top so that I can decoratate it in class... I will try and practice a little this weekend.. Thanks for all the helpful info..
