to ship a cookie bouquet on the average? I've done it on a 2-day service through fedex (it was going to Hawaii) and it came out to like 60 FREAKN DOLLARS! Do i have to do it 2-day or what? What would all you cookie afficionados say?

I would send it thru regular mail 2-3 day. Much cheaper than FedX I would think. Hawaii would be really $$$$ no matter how you send it though I bet! Just make sure they are wrapped well but the cookies seem to be pretty darn sturdy.

Actually, Priority Shipping to Hawaii is the exact same cost as Priority Shipping to anywhere else in the US. (Same for Alaska) Doesn't matter if it's cross country or cross town.... It's the overseas charges that will give you cardiac arrest!

I sell on ebay and after years of stating "Lower 48 only" in my s/h TOS, it was brought to my attention that Priority doesn't cost more.... icon_redface.gif

Holy mackeral!!! Soooo, is it gonna cost me $40-60 bucks everytime I have to ship a bouquet (I like to do them for family out of town)? For clients, do you include shipping in your cost? Or package it for shipping and let them do it?

My predicament is that I charged a client for a bouquet. She wanted me to deliver so I figured okay, I'll do that. Then she emails me the address and it's 7 HOURS from here so I must have misunderstood her "deliver" request. Should I inform her that I didn't charge her for shipping and request that she pay it?

You should be able to ship for under 10.00 dollars usually priority shipping thru US Postal Service. It is not much more to send to Hawaii. Have you figured the weight? I think you can go to the Postal Service website and get rates online, not positive.

Hope this helps.

They have flat rate priority boxes for @ $8.00. What are the dimensions of the bouquet? This woman definitely needs to get a call back regarding "delivery' - tell her you thought she was local and ask her how she wants it shipped ( provide a few options & prices for her to choose from ). She had to know that s/h wasn't included in the price. icon_rolleyes.gif

You need to weigh w/ packaging your item so you can use the calculaor to figure s/h - I use www.usps.com to figure all my shipping for ebay sales.... works out very well, but I know a cookie bouquet is more fragile, etc...

Alrighty thanks! I'm going to talk to her on Monday and inform her about the misunderstanding. I will definitely be using the shipping calculator as well! Thanks for all the tips!

Now I know, next time I'll be sure to ask "Local or will it be shipped?" LOL icon_redface.gif
