on the racks during the several days of drying time with the royal icing? I'm anxious to try my first attempt and don't want the cookies to get soft. According to Helen's tutorial - the icing needs to dry first for 12 hours before decorating, then another 24 hrs before packaging. This web site is awesome - thanks everyone!

I don't leave them out. I lay them flat after icing in a large airtight Rubbermaid container. Then the next day, I do the detail work. I think they would get soft / stale if left out?
