Okay, so the recipe for MMF says to use 2 t of your favorite flavoring. I was just wondering, what types of flavoring do you use or do you just use none at all and ease back on the PS? I have a French vanilla cake with BC icing but don't want to have the MMF taste different. Understand????
Thanx, Aimee
You can use the same flavorings you use for your icing. If you have a clear vanilla that would probably work good. I know some people use candy oils. I personally use almond because it's so YUM!. I always put almond in my buttercream and fondant, whether it's chocolate or vanilla cake, unless someone asks for something else.
I made MMF for the first time this past weekend and didn't flavor it. I found that it tasted like marshmallows.
So if your cake is French Vanilla, I would use a tiny bit of vanilla to cover up the marshmallow taste.
Thanx all! I used my clear vanilla and it tastes so yummy...much better than the wilton stuff! I am actually having a hard time keeping my hands out of it! Thanx again for the help!

I've used a few drops of LorAnn flavoring in the last few batches of MMF I have made and loved it!A little bit goes a really long way and everyone has raved about how yummy everything has tasted .... I went crazy at the cake store and bought almost every flavor they have!
I really like the almond flavoring(love the smell too
I usually do a combo of vanilla and almond.
I have a surplus of almond for some reason so I have been using more and more of it. It is great in the NFSC too.
