Last night I baked one of my famous Double Chocolate Layer cakes and didn't eat any of the trimmings!!!!! I am so proud of myself icon_smile.gif I wanted to really bad but I mustered up some self control and didn't.
Just wanted to share...

Hooray for you for having such self-control! thumbs_up.gif I sort of like it when a customer orders a cake I don't really like, so I'm not tempted to eat any scraps. This morning, though, a woman picked up a cake with Bavarian creme filling and I have some filling left over! Ack!! I better hope my teenage son finds it before I have a late-nighter in the kitchen with it. icon_rolleyes.gif

More power to you!! I know I couldn't. Actually before reading your post, I was just thinking about leaving the computer to go for a second piece of my daughter's bday cake. Maybe I shouldn't???? We'll see how lazy I am icon_lol.gif

I don't have so much of the cake problem, but i do however have the licking of the icing problem. when i'm done i have it on my fingers and i tend to scrape the icing off the bowls and spatula. that is soooooo not a good thing!!!! but it tastes good. =)

I do the same thing. I couldn't care less about the cake (most of the time lol), but the icing is what gets me! On occasion (ok, more like on many occasions) I've been known to sit with nothing but a spoon and a bowl of buttercream. icon_confused.gif

My pants don't fit anymore though, I HAVE TO STOP THIS!

It works out good for me, my mom is diabetic so she stays away from the icing........ however.......... she loves when i level off a cake because her and my dad have it with their coffee in the mornings. now if i only had someone to eat the icing. JulieBugg maybe i should mail it to you =) (problem solved) =oP

Oh I HATE chocolate buttercream days. It should be a sin for something to be that good. Don't even need cake!!! I could suck it right outta the bag!!!

I don't have a problem with eating the buttercream icing. I have yet to find a recipe that doesn't make me think that I am eating nothing but pure Crisco! Turns my stomach to even think about it. Before I knew what went in to BC I loved it. Now I can't bring myself to eat it. I don't even make it!!! None of my frostings contain Crisco or powdered sugar.

Try the british version

4oz butter (must be realbutter, margarine won't do)
6oz icing sugar
2oz cocoa
splash of vanilla essence

simply beat together until smooth and not a bit of crisco in sight

I have gotten so bad at "taste testing" cakes and icings that I am seriously tempted to start putting a big piece of duct tape over my mouth when baking and decorating. *UGH* Talk about no self control. icon_cry.gificon_sad.gificon_evil.giftapedshut.gifthumbsdown.gificon_mad.gif

I wish I had better self control. I like to sandwich the dicard from leveling cakes with some icing. What a sandwich! I do try, really I do. Sometimes I don't eat any.

I HATE chocolate, I don't like it...I loathe it....hahaha

Now, if I could ONLY say the same thing about chocolate....It absolutely adores me....

Loves my hips, my thighs...arms....get the "picture?"

chocolate acts like my jealous lover, hates when I lose weight to become the sexy momma that I THINK I am...and finds a way of entering my life!

Chocolate loves me so much that I think next time I will start asking chocolate to chip in on the bills around the house...

tee hee!!!!

mmmmmmmm is THAT chocolate cake I smell........????????????

Way To Go Lazy Susan!

I don't care for cake, but i do have the problem with icing sometimes... but all i have to do is announce that there is some left over and i get swarmed in the kitchen. the plate gets practically licked clean!

lol yes indeed!!! Love the ideas about the chocolate restraining order AND the duct tape. I was thinking I could tape my mouth closed and just leave a little hole for a straw to drink with, but the icing tip would fit. Oh, chocolate, I'd give up my hubby for you!!!
