Has anyone tried rolled buttercream? What does it taste like? If it tastes anything like regular buttercream I would think it would be good.
Also, is it hard to make or to work with? icon_smile.gif

hi greetings icon_biggrin.gif
yes i have tried rolled buttercreme fondant. it has a really good taste, but tends to be softer. The one i used is from this site. you need to adjust your icing sugar to make it roll out smooth, and not crack. and knead it well, test it so that it is not sticky, or to dry.
when i make it, i add butter extract, and vanilla flavouring.
I also use the marshmallow foundant, this is real good.

I have used the rolled buttercream recipe from another site so not sure if it's the same but I LOVE it. It is great on sugar cookies. I always put a little orange extract with it and it comes out wonderful. I have to make sure that I have a lot of powdered sugar on my hands or I have rolled it out on wax paper. I like to put it back into the freezer for a few minutes after I cut out the shape and that makes it easier to handle.
