I have never put fondant on a cookie and I am sure you have answered this question before, but I couldn't find it. How to you attach MMF or regular fondant to a cookie? Do you put the fondant while it is hot?

I thought about this, but I don't know where to start.

Some people do it while the cookie is still warm and others use a "glue" of sorts. I took somone's advice on here and just made a mix of confectioner's sugar and water and used that to stick it on, it held up great. But, next time I'll try it while the cookie is warm, that sounds even eaiser to me!

I agree that it's easiest to put the MMF on while the cookie is still warm. However, I would recommend having all of the fondant cutouts ready before you put the cookies in the oven. I am a bit of a perfectionist and find myself trimming each piece after it has been cut, just to make sure the edges are nice and clean (especially when using the copper cutters). That seems to take much longer than the 6-8 minutes that the cookies bake! It works best if you place the MMF cutouts on the cookies immediately after they are out of the oven. This way the MMF sort of fuses onto the cookie. HTH icon_smile.gif

That's a great idea! When you cut them out, how do you store them while waiting for the cookies, just on wax paper or parchment paper?

I put the trimmed MMF inbetween two layers of Saran Wrap or in a Ziplock just to keep it from drying out. I'm not really sure if it matters or not. I just figure that the MMF will be more likely to melt if it is still soft.. plus that way you can manipulate it to fit the cookies properly thumbs_up.gif
