So, I've decided to make a stacked Oreo cake for my daughter's birthday from scratch. I can't decide whether to use a yellow cake (The Ultimate Yellow Cake) or a white cake (A Better White Scratch Cake) as its base. I also can't decide whether to use crusting buttercream or crusting cream cheese as the frosting. What do you suggest? If I use the crusting cream cheese as the frosting, how long can it sit out without needing refrigeration? Thanks!
