Okay, help! I love the look of the spelled out names with the fondant rope everyone says they use their clay guns for. Here's the problemo...I've bought two different clay guns now, one plastic and one metal, and so far unless I get the assistance of the strong man from the circus I can barely get the fondant to squeeze out. What is the trick? I know there must be one! Help!
YOu may want to post this in one of the other forums. Not everyone may check out the cookie forum.
I have a metal clay gun and I had a really hard time getting it to work, but I finally figured it out. I work a lot of crisco into the MMF until it is so slippery that I can barely roll it into a rope...then it seems to come out easily. Also, there is a right and wrong side to the little disks that you put in. It works both ways, but one side is definitely easier. Feel free to PM me if you need more help. I've been playing around with mine a lot lately and it's been getting easier and easier. HTH
I just purchased a metal clay gun. I am having the same trouble. I guess I will try the Crisco trick.
i was going to ask this question the other day, i have the same trouble with my clay gun and the only thing that i find goes through it easily is the wilton just add water gumpaste, it comes out so easily but then you use mmf and my god is it hard to squease.
i will have to try the crisco trick too, i just ordered some more wilton gumpaste so that i could make a name for a cake i have coming up, i should have read this thread 10 minutes ago. lol
