Well, 2 questions actually....

Has anyone ever used a package of Kool-Aid to flavor cake? For instance, if you want strawberry cake, could you use a French Vanilla mix with the addition of a strawberry Kool-aid packet?

The other question I had is my 'Dr'd' cake recipe is good and moist but not chocolatey enough - do you think I could add 1/4 c. of baking cocoa? Or would that make it bitter? thanks icon_smile.gif

CakeDiva73,

I have not tried the Jello in the cake mix, but as for the chocolate cake try adding 1-2 teaspoons of chocolate extract to your mix. It will enhance the chocolate flavor.

I just bought a new cake calendar which is printed by betty crocker ( I think) (I'm at work it is at home) but one of the recipes is a white cake with strawberry koolaid, and it says experiment with other flavors. Planning on trying it soon.

on the choc, I use a DH dark choc cake with choc pudding and it is a very dark choc cake, goes great with raspberry sauce

I use strawberry jello in my white cake mix with fresh or frozen strawberries to make strawberry cake and it is fantastic.

I have used the extender with chocolate cake mix and when I do that, I usually add a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder also. It didn't make the cake taste bitter.
