I need to vent to someone!!!! Sunday I was working on fondant daisy's I need for a wedding cake in two weeks, thought I'd get a head start ( always a good idea) I need 240 small and 50 large. At the end of my day, I had 160 and was so proud of myself...
So I clean up the kitchen , put away my mess, because we need to go visit the in-laws. Come home to find I had 40 daisy's LEFT!!!!!!
Someone (kids maybe??) left the bar stool out and our Jack Russell dog jumped on the counter and had a grand ol' time playing in my daisy's!!!!
AHHHHH!
I could have cried. Just about did. After further investigating, I also found the ziploc bag of fondant under the table.
The dog spent the night OUTSIDE...throwing up for a couple of hours(serves her right). I quess I learned a lesson the hard way!!
My husband said It was because I was working on a Sunday...
Anyway thanks for letting me vent.

That is horrible . . . my dog has gotten into my things plenty of times, so I understand. The last time I bent down really close to her and in a very calm voice, I told her that if she ever did it again, I would turn her into sausage meat. Naturally, she wagged her tail, gave me a kiss, and I melted and laughed at her - they are lucky they are cute! She then ran for a spot on the kitchen floor to throw up whatever it was she had gotten into . . . .

We had found a black lab puppy (all 60 lbs.) and were trying to find his owner. Normally he stayed outside where I thought my DH put him. I was working on a wedding cake and had the majority of the bottom tier finished. Pushed it in the center of the table, walked around kitchen counter and heard a funny sound. Lab puppy leaned her head across the table and "slurped" the cake.

Had to completely re-do the bottom cakes. But did I learn my lesson??? No...working on another wedding cake for a friend and I walked around into the livingroom (thought dogs were outside)...another funny sound. Glanced around the corner...nothing out of the ordinary. Hmmm..better walk around counter and check it out. There, licking the frosting off of his nose...the puppy. Slurped the side of the cake.

Didn't find his owners but we sure found him some new ones.

OH, you poor dear!!! I have a Jack Russel mix and a lab/boxer mix, both of them stay strictly outside, especially if there's a cake in the house!!! I can't stand cleaning up their hair!
