Here is a before and after picture of a cupcake cake that I made for my cousins son. It was 44 cupcakes and my first time using my new projector, the cake cake out perfect. When we were leaving the house to go to the party I slipped down the stairs with the cake in my hands and yes you know the rest... Th cake came tumbling after.
This is my worst fear come true, I can't believe this happened, I am devistated. I had to run to the store and buy emergency cupcakes so instead of making $50 that I charged I had to spend $50 out of my own pocket ($30 on cupcakes and $20 for the gift). I am never delivering a cake again even if I am going to the party. Thanks for reading.

WOW, just wow, I am so sorry to hear that. Dont give up on bringing cakes though. Perhaps you could have the cake already at the bottom of the stairs waiting for you? As in leaving it there a few hours before so if you slip again, you still have time to rebake?

One question, how do you get the top to look so great (and like a regular cake) when it is made with cupcakes? I hope that question makes sense.

Yes, then I had to clean it up icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif This is how I looked while cleaning it up so my DH took over because he knew how devistated I was. He sat with me the entire time I was decorating so he felt the pain too.

Thanks
Jackie

I arranged them all on a cake board close together then I frost and decorate them like I would a regular cake.

I also have steps, but have never had a slip with a cake. I am soooo very careful.
I have never made a cupcake cake, but will try sometime. I have learned lots from your fall. I do hope you are OK as that could have been a bone breaker also.

aww jackie, sorry that happened toyou! that was a gorgeous cake! That's always so frustrating when something like that happens after putting so much sweat and tears and energy into something icon_smile.gif
Please dont throw in the towel on delivery or anything else for that one mishap-for every one that drops there are hundreds more that make it unscathed so remember that and hugs to you cause I know that feeling. the one where you icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif for a while. Let me tell you though in a few years from now you'll be icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif about it. In the mean time keep on trucking with your beautiful work!
