Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday!! I have a question...
How long can I have "raw" cookie dough in the fridge (in an airthight container) without baking?
Thanks,
Elvira
I'm not 100% sure about this, but I wouldn't keep it for more than 2-3 days just like any other leftover.
You could roll it into logs and freeze almost forever though.
I don't know what this does to any leavening ingredients though, maybe someone else knows for sure.
What type of dough is it?
I think 2 days in the fridge would be the longest I'd try it, but like the previous poster said, you can freeze it for a long time.
I use the no-fail cookie recipe for my cutout cookies, and I roll it out between sheets of parchment paper, then freeze in one of those new jumbo ziploc bags. When I want to make a few cookies, I just take a "sheet" of dough out of the freezer, let it thaw on the counter for a few minutes, and it's ready to cut and bake!
hth!
Laura.
I have some choclate chunk in my frezzer (premade the kind schools sell) it says-- are you ready for this---freeze up to one year or refrigerate up to 6 months.
I looked at the ingredients and there are no preservative type things listed just basic stuff like flour, eggs, sugar etc..
Laura, thanks for that tip about rolling it out and freezing it. I love it when someone gives me a really good tip like that!
I ended up throwing the dough away because I don't want to take the chance. Next time I will freeze it.
Thanks,
Elvira
