Hi all,
Long story short: I used to have my own specialty, hand-decorated custom cookie business a while back. I lost my lease, etc. Since then I have gone back to full-time work (as a copywriter) but I still have the "cookie bug." I was wondering if there was anyone out there in the NJ/NYC area who might need my services. Perhaps you have a cake business and would like to offer cookies too? Or you have a catering business and need a cookie baker? A restaurant? Coffee bar? You get the idea. I'd love to chat with someone who might be interested in this proposal. Thanks!
Tom (aka Cookieman)
Tom are you the same Cookieman that is linked to the infamous cakeball recipe? If so I owe about 10lbs to you that I have gained
Oh, that would be me!
I also am to blame for many people gaining weight at work. I guess it's a blessing/curse!
Well then it is nice to "meet" you and I must thank you for all the orders I keep getting. Instead of using left over cake scrapes, I now have to bake 11x15's to tear up for cake balls. Oh well at least then you don't have to worry about a cake baking up even or sticking to the pan! LOL
It's nice to meet you too! I always keep a couple of plain cakes in the freezer just for this reason. They are so easy to make and everyone loves them. I'm so happy they have become "famous!" And I'm glad you get lots of orders for them.
Keep on bakin'!
Cookieman
I'm actually going to make some cookieman cake balls this weekend to experiment with because I have a bake sale coming up that I want to dazzle the peeps with these delights!
I had to do a search to find this infamous cakeball recipe. It is not in the recipe section. I did find it through another thread and copied it to word. Would you please post it in Recipes so I can save it to my recipe box? I'm sure other newbies are going to be asking for it when they read this thread. Thank you.
Cupcake you must have been typing while I was thinking. What are these famous cakeballs, and please tell me how to make them. I'm making cakes tonight and will have some trimmings. Good luck finding a job cookieman.
Janice
Sorry cookieman I seem to have de-railed your thread topic.
For anyone looking for cookieman's cakeball recipe, you can do a search in the forums for cakeball or cookieman. Lots of discussion about these and Lots of different recipes have come from the original. ALL GOOD!
Welcome Back!
I missed you! Glad to have you back. Jackie and the other moderators will be sooo happy to see that you are back.
This site has grown ALOT while you have been gone.

There are several links in that thread having to do with cakeballs! Enjoy the possibilities are endless with these!
Warning--an expanding waist line is a danger here!
Thanks New for posting this. I too have copied it to Word and have saved it. Now if my husband would just leave the scraps alone long enough for me to make cake balls!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I read that entire previous thread...whew! The ladies were excited and now I want to try these things!! Thanks again for helping us get to the right spot.
To everyone who has welcomed me back: THANKS! The site looks great and I can see there is a lot of competition out there! Nice to see a cookie gallery all on its own too.
Thanks again for all the compliments and well wishes. It's greatly appreciated.
P.S. I didn't realize I had become a quasi-celebrity while I was gone!
best of luck--i hope that their's someone out there to put your talents to great use!
Cookieman! I'm so glad to see you back! I was afraid that when you left to go back to a non-cookie job we'd never hear from you again. WOOT!!!
Thanks momsandraven!
I would have answered sooner but there seems to be a few glitches (at least with me) on this site recently. I have not been getting notified all the time when a topic I am watching is replied to. Other weird things are also happening.
Anyway...I have been back at work full time now for one year as a copywriter for Macy's direct mail catalogs in the home division. If any of you (and I'm sure there are many!) receive Macy's direct mail catalogs, I'm partly to blame!
It's good to be back and into baking cookies again!!!
