Need A True Black Icing For Cookies

Hi Ladies!
I need to make some cookies and my customer has requested black and white cookies. I will be decorating them with royal icing. What is the best coloring product to use for black icing? Is there a technique to use?
TIA!!!

I use either Wilton black, CK Products black, or Americolor black (which seems to color the easiest, with less coloring being added). Mix small amounts of icing, instead of one large batch. Also, it helps if you start with a chocolate icing or use brown to color the icing, then add black. That way you don't have to use so much black! Also, royal icing takes color better/with less coloring than buttercream.
All I can say is AMERICOLOR! I was skeptical of it's "ability" to turn icing a true black and then I tried it... I was completely amazed! I used 2 drops in 2 cups of WHITE royal icing and it turned it black with no hint of purple whatsoever (I always had trouble with Wilton's black; it would turn my white icing a dark purple). Americolor, americolor, americolor! LOL
my only additional advice is to make the black icing and then let it sit - covered - for a while to let the color deepen. Works really well for me when I want a black royal.
good luck!
I use alot of black on my cookies and I like Spectrum True Black. You don't need too much and it is BLACK! Wilton black tends to turn greenish, but not Spectrum...it keeps the color and it doesn't fade.
